About kat
kat is an online bookmark manager that enables you to organize internet links and other brief snippets of information in a hierarchy of categories. The name "kat" was chosen to emphasize the categorization of information. You can think of "kat" as being short for "Knowledge cATegory manager".
Running kat
kat is an open source Java-based web application that you download and install on your own web server. You run kat using a Servlet engine such as Tomcat.
There is a kat demonstration site where you can try out kat to see if it is something you want to use. However, the demonstration site is for demonstration only: it may be discontinued, or any or all data may be removed, at any time.
